Players Hub

Welcome to the Funguys Swarm players hub. This section covers every character, pet, and Treeling available in the game, with detailed breakdowns of their roles, strengths, and recommended build combinations.

Funguys Swarm features four starting characters and several unlockable companions. Each character has a unique weapon set, elemental affinity, and playstyle. Pets and Treelings provide passive bonuses that enhance your run by improving resource gathering, mobility, or survivability.

Characters

The Character Tier List provides detailed rankings and analysis of all playable characters including Ersa, Fuzzbug, X-olotl, Chimpy, Groovba, Dr. Botanika, Mr. Midnight, and Steve.

Ersa is the Freeze-focused character, ideal for beginners thanks to her intuitive crowd-control skills. Her Beast affinity makes her scale well with Beast-element upgrades.

Fuzzbug is a high-risk, high-reward character that scales extremely well with Beast-element upgrades. As enemy count grows, Fuzzbug’s damage output grows exponentially.

X-olotl is the balanced generalist with no strong weaknesses. X-olotl works well with any element combination and is recommended for players who enjoy adaptable playstyles.

Chimpy is the offensive specialist with aggressive melee-leaning skills. Chimpy excels when paired with Fire-element skills that amplify attack damage.

Pets and Treelings

The Pets and Treelings guide covers companion systems including Magnetika, Slo Moe, Dashy, and Macho. Treelings are unlocked at the Sanctuary Tree and provide persistent bonuses throughout every run.

Magnetika increases experience gem and item drop attraction radius, making it the best Treeling for early-game farming and resource acceleration.

Slo Moe slows incoming enemy projectiles, providing critical defensive utility in later arenas with high projectile density like Hellscape.

Dashy refunds a portion of dash charges on enemy kills, enabling more aggressive mobility and significantly improving sustained damage output.

Macho provides periodic health recovery, acting as a safety net that keeps you alive through tough boss phases without requiring dedicated healing skills.

Up to three Treelings can be equipped simultaneously. The optimal combination depends on your build and current arena. For aggressive DPS builds, pair Dashy with Slo Moe. For defensive builds, combine Macho with Slo Moe and Magnetika.

Building Your Team

Funguys Swarm is a single-character roguelite, so “team” refers to your equipped Treelings and active pets rather than a roster of playable characters. Choose Treelings that complement your skill build rather than focusing on raw stats. A well-balanced Treeling setup can mean the difference between a failed run and a successful clear of Hellscape.
