Funguys Swarm Builds Hub
The builds hub for Funguys Swarm — character tier list, skills and weapons reference, best builds, and Fire Curses strategy.
Builds Hub
Welcome to the complete builds section of the Funguys Swarm Wiki. This hub covers everything related to character optimization, skill combinations, and build theory — the core systems that determine how effectively you survive and progress through all five arenas.
Funguys Swarm is a roguelite where build diversity is central to replayability. Every run presents opportunities to discover new skill combinations, elemental synergies, and trigger-based amplifications. Understanding how these systems interact lets you move from surviving the early arenas to consistently defeating the Fire King.
Character Optimization
The Character Tier List ranks all playable characters including Ersa, Fuzzbug, X-olotl, Chimpy, Groovba, Dr. Botanika, Mr. Midnight, and Steve. Each character has unique base stats, weapon affinities, and elemental strengths that define their optimal playstyle.
Ersa is the Freeze-focused character, ideal for beginners thanks to her intuitive crowd-control skills. Her Beast affinity makes her scale well with Beast-element upgrades, and Freeze effects synergize with Water-element skills to create powerful sustained control.
Fuzzbug is a high-risk, high-reward character that scales extremely well with Beast-element upgrades. As enemy count grows, Fuzzbug’s damage output grows exponentially, making it the strongest character in the late game when combined with Beast mutation builds.
X-olotl is the balanced generalist with no strong weaknesses. X-olotl works well with any element combination and is recommended for players who enjoy adaptable playstyles that can respond to whatever skills and relics appear during a run.
Chimpy is the offensive specialist with aggressive melee-leaning skills. Chimpy excels when paired with Fire-element skills that amplify attack damage, and benefits most from cooldown-based trigger skills that keep the pressure on enemies.
Skills and Weapons
The Skills and Weapons reference covers all skills organized by element and trigger type. Understanding trigger types is essential for building strong synergies.
Dash-triggered skills activate when you perform a dash. These skills are mobility-focused, allowing you to deal damage while repositions and are essential for Hellscape’s high-density combat.
Weapon-attack-triggered skills activate when your weapon hits an enemy. These skills scale with attack speed and benefit most from characters with fast base weapons like Fuzzbug.
Cooldown-triggered skills activate on a fixed timer regardless of your actions. These skills provide consistent background damage and control, making them reliable choices for any build.
Build Strategies
The Best Builds Guide explains trigger-based build theory and provides specific recommended builds for each character. The guide covers Beast-element combo builds, Water-element control builds, Fire-element burst builds, and hybrid survival configurations.
Build theory in Funguys Swarm centers on stacking skills with the same trigger type. When multiple dash-triggered skills are equipped, each dash activates all of them simultaneously, creating multiplicative damage potential. The same principle applies to weapon-attack and cooldown-triggered skills.
Fire Curses
The Fire Curses guide covers risk-reward analysis for optional difficulty modifiers. Fire Curses can be selected before each run to increase reward multipliers, but each curse also adds a new challenge that can end otherwise successful runs. At Forest Strength Level 4, you gain the ability to ban one skill type from appearing, which can offset curse penalties and improve build consistency.
Arena-Specific Build Recommendations
For Carrot Farm, focus on weapon-focused builds that establish strong base damage. Dash-triggered skills work well here because the arena’s low enemy density lets you control engagement timing.
For Frozen Pond, prioritize Water-element Freeze skills that counter the ice hazard by preventing enemies from moving on frozen ground.
For Lava Jungle, Fire-element skills that apply burn effects synergize with the arena’s fire theme, while movement-based dash skills help navigate lava pools safely.
For Egglosseum, Beast-element skills provide the sustained damage needed for the arena’s elite-heavy compositions.
For Hellscape, survival takes priority. Earth and Water elements provide the best crowd control, while Slo Moe and Macho Treelings handle projectile protection and emergency healing.
よくある質問
Funguys Swarm に関するよくある疑問へのクイックアンサー。
What is the best trigger type for beginners?
Cooldown-triggered skills are the most forgiving for beginners because they activate automatically on a timer, requiring less precise timing than dash or weapon-attack triggers. As you improve, dash-triggered skills offer the highest damage ceiling.
How do I build for the Fire King?
The Fire King fight rewards defensive stability over raw damage. Earth and Water elements provide strong crowd control, while Macho Treeling handles emergency healing. Enter Hellscape with at least two dash charges and keep crowd control skills active at all times.
Should I take Fire Curses on my first Hellscape clear?
No. Your first Hellscape clear should be done without Fire Curses to maximize your survival chances. Once you have the fight patterns memorized and Forest Strength upgrades accumulated, add curses incrementally to increase reward multipliers.
