Prerequisites for Entering Hellscape

Before entering Hellscape, ensure you have completed Egglosseum at least once to unlock the arena. Equally important is reaching Forest Strength 4 or higher in the Sanctuary — this upgrade lets you ban Fire-element cards from appearing during level-ups.

Your Sanctuary weapon upgrades should be at level 15 or higher before attempting Hellscape. Weapon damage scales multiplicatively with skill power. Equip Rusdy or Starcat as your pet.

Understanding the Fire King Fight

The Fire King encounter consists of three phases, each triggered at a specific health threshold. Phase one begins at full health and transitions to phase two at sixty percent health. Phase three begins at thirty percent health and is the most dangerous.

Phase One Strategy

Phase one features the Fire King’s basic attack suite: sweeping fire slashes in a frontal cone, fireball volleys that fill medium-distance zones, and minion summoning that brings two to four Fire Minions into the arena.

Position yourself at medium range. Use dash to avoid the frontal slash. Focus on collecting XP during phase one.

Maintain your skill uptime during phase one. Iron Shroom and Boulder Bonk are particularly valuable for maintaining constant pressure.

Phase Two Strategy

Phase two begins at sixty percent health with an arena-wide fire transformation. The Fire King gains two new attacks: a delayed fire pillar that erupts three seconds after a ground marker appears, and a spinning dash attack that crosses the arena diagonally.

When you see the ground marker for the fire pillar, immediately move to the arena edge. The spinning dash attack should be dodged by standing perpendicular to the Fire King’s dash path.

At sixty percent health, the Fire King enters a recovery animation for approximately three seconds. This is your maximum damage window.

Phase Three Strategy

Phase three begins at thirty percent health and is the most demanding portion of the fight. The Fire King’s attack speed increases by approximately forty percent, fire minion spawns double, and the arena’s fire hazards reach maximum intensity.

The Fire King gains access to Flame Column — his most dangerous attack. Flame Column covers nearly the entire arena floor with fire damage over six seconds. The only safe positions are small platforms that rise from the lava at the arena corners.

When Flame Column begins, immediately dash toward the nearest corner platform. Remain on the platform until the attack ends.

During phase three, do not chase the Fire King. Wait for him to come to you at the platform edges, then use your weapon and long-range skills to damage him as he approaches.

Recommended Full Build for Fire King

The optimal build combines Water and Earth elements with mobility focus. Start with Ersa as your character for her inherent Freeze control. Equip the Bow as your weapon.

Core skills: Frozen Splash for Freeze application, Whirlpool for enemy displacement, Iron Shroom for constant area damage, Bramble Roots for dash-triggered damage, and Boulder Bonk for boss-phase crowd control.

Treelings: Slo Moe for projectile protection, Dashy to maintain dash-triggered skill uptime, and Macho for emergency health recovery.

Pet: Rusdy for additional Freeze application during phase transitions.
