Forest Sanctuary Guide

Forest Sanctuary Overview

The Forest Sanctuary is the safe hub area you return to between arena runs. It is the central progression hub of Funguys Swarm, containing every permanent upgrade station, the pet interaction area, the Sanctuary Tree for Treeling management, and the Shroom Shop.

The Sanctuary is always accessible from the main menu. The Forest Sanctuary itself grows as you complete more arenas.

Sanctuary Stations

The Weapon Upgrade station lets you spend Dew to permanently increase your weapons’ base damage and attack speed. Prioritize weapon upgrades first — they provide the most consistent power increase.

The Skill Shrine offers permanent improvements to your skill power and cooldown reduction.

The Pet Sanctuary station lets you equip one of your unlocked pets before entering an arena.

The Sanctuary Tree is where rescued Treelings are managed. You can equip up to three Treelings before a run.

The Shroom Shop sells weapons, relics, and consumable items for Dew and Gold.

Weapon Upgrades

Weapon upgrades are the highest-impact investment in the Sanctuary. Each weapon has independent upgrade tracks for base damage and attack speed.

The upgrade cost scales with each level. Early levels cost minimal Dew, while high-level upgrades require significant Dew accumulation.

Pet Interactions

Pets are equipped from the Sanctuary before entering an arena. Each pet provides a passive effect during combat.

Rusdy freezes nearby enemies periodically. Quacky pushes enemies away using Knockback. Starcat gathers XP automatically and deals damage when enemies touch you.

Treeling System

Treelings are special arena companions unlocked by finding and rescuing them during runs. Each Treeling provides a unique effect, and equipping three simultaneously gives you three separate bonuses.

Magnetika spawns a power-up magnet after killing a set number of enemies. Slo Moe slows all enemy projectiles. Dashy refunds your dash charge after using it. Furiosy increases your attack speed after killing enemies without taking damage.

Forest Strength System

Forest Strength is the meta-progression system introduced in the 1.0 update. Each completed arena awards one Forest Strength point.

Forest Strength upgrades include: the ability to ban certain card types from appearing during level-ups, bonus starting equipment, increased starting resources, reduced Fire Curse penalties, and unique unlockable passives.

The most impactful Forest Strength upgrade is Level 4, which lets you ban one card type from appearing during runs.

FAQ

Preguntas frecuentes

Respuestas rápidas a las preguntas más comunes sobre Funguys Swarm.

What can I upgrade permanently in the Forest Sanctuary?

The Sanctuary offers permanent upgrades for weapons, skills, and your character baseline. Weapon upgrades increase base damage and attack speed across all runs. Skill upgrades improve ability power and reduce cooldowns.

How does Forest Strength work?

Forest Strength awards permanent meta-upgrades for each arena you complete. Unlike Sanctuary upgrades which require Dew, Forest Strength upgrades are earned through gameplay alone.

Can I change my pet between runs?

Yes. Before entering any arena, open the Sanctuary and select your pet from the Pet Sanctuary station. Only one pet can be equipped at a time.

How do I find Treelings?

Treelings spawn randomly within arena environments during runs. They are not guaranteed to appear — exploring different areas of each arena increases your chance of encountering one.

Does the Shroom Shop inventory change?

Yes. The Shroom Shop refreshes its inventory every time you return to the Sanctuary between runs. Check the shop after each arena completion to see new weapons, relics, and items.
